This is precisely the base of the rabbinic farce. The reason why Jews
think that Torah demands all kinds of strange behaviors from this is
precisely because they can’t read Hebrew correctly. That includes most
Israelis who read and speak modern Hebrew as though it were a secular
language without any idea how to plumb its depths.
